1. Prepare

Prepare supplementary materials.

A digital photo of yourself, from which a photo ID will be generated. The photo must be full-face view directly facing the camera with both eyes open, no glasses, and no hat or head covering that obscures or shadows your face. (Head coverings worn daily for religious purpose are allowed.)

2. Register

Click "register now" and create an account on the application platform. Complete the registration.

3. Pay

Pay tuition and all fees on the application platform. Once you submit your auditor registration, you are confirmed to attend!

Pay the registration fee and tuition by noon EST March 15, 2018 and save $60; the application fee becomes $125 starting noon EST March 15, 2018.


  • October 2018: Applications available
  • Friday, March 15, 2019, noon EST: Additional $60 added to applications submitted after this time. Applications remain open as long as space is available in the program.
  • Early April 2019: Notification of admission status provided to all who submitted by March 15
  • April 30, 2019: Payment due for applicants accepted as performers*

*Registrants for the Professional Retreat and auditors pay tuition and housing fees at the time of registration.

Curtis Donors, from the Player's Circle (those who have given $75 to Curtis Institute) and above, receive 15% discount on tuition to the Professional Retreat or Auditor track. Contact summerfest@curtis.edu for your discount code to be entered at the end of registration.

Students of the Lyra Society may apply to be Junior Colonists on a full scholarship. Contact the Lyra Society directly for more information.

Curtis Summerfest does not offer scholarships for the Elizabeth Hainen Harp Colony. Students and parents are urged to seek financial assistance from local sources such as school music organizations; county, state, or national music education organizations; youth orchestras and bands; music clubs; service clubs (Rotary, Kiwanis, etc.); businesses; churches; and foundations.
